Photos and screenshots in disputes

Make visual evidence findable: clear labels, dates, and what each image is meant to show.

  • Take photos in good light; include a wider shot plus a close-up of the issue.
  • Keep original files; avoid heavy filters that hide detail.
  • Note the date taken in the evidence description (and device date if you know it).
  • For screenshots: include enough of the screen to show the site/app, date/time if visible, and the relevant message or listing.
  • Label by content: “Leak under sink 12 Mar”, “Order page showing delivery date”, not “IMG_4021”.
  • Link visuals to chronology events (“Photo taken same day fault noticed”).
  • Do not crop out context that explains what you are pointing at — or keep both cropped and full versions labelled.

Useful for faulty goods, faulty service, and supplier disputes.
