Disputes

Organise a deposit dispute

Record what was paid, what deductions are claimed, and the paper trail in date order.

Facts & timeline checklist

  • Who holds the deposit (landlord, agent, platform, venue).
  • Deposit amount, date paid, and payment method.
  • Agreement or booking reference linked to the deposit.
  • Move-out / end date, check-out, or cancellation date.
  • Deductions proposed: amounts, reasons given, and when you were told.
  • Your responses and any partial refund already received.

Evidence to label

  • Tenancy agreement, booking confirmation, or terms mentioning the deposit.
  • Proof of payment.
  • Inventory / check-in and check-out reports or photos if you have them.
  • Deduction schedules, invoices for alleged damage, and related emails.
  • Scheme or protection paperwork if a tenancy deposit was protected (copy only — we do not file for you).

What your Case Pack contains

Parties, deposit and deduction figures, chronology of communications, and labelled documents — for your records or to share. Not advice on deposit protection schemes or claims.
